Zachary High School Band of Blue students finished their last day of Drumline Camp on Friday, June 22, on the front lawn of the high school's campus.

ZHS Band Director Jason Venable said the students met every morning from Monday, June 18, thru Friday, June 22, in order to prepare for the upcoming football season and school term.

Last Friday, the students practiced on the bass drum, xylophone and orchestra bells.

Venable said the band is excited about the upcoming season for several reasons but especially because they will have a new Band of Blue trailer to haul their equipment.

The trailer, twice as large as their current one, was made possible by donations from the community, money from several fundraisers and the sale of old ZHS band uniforms, Venable said.

Band students practicing on June 22 included Matthew Flanders and Jean Hill on the xylophone, Jonathan Hooge and Aaron Celestine on the bass drum and Ashley Marler on the orchestra bells.

Venable and the group were joined by more band students later that day.
