Secretary of State Tom Schedler joined fellow secretaries of state on National Voter Registration Day, Sept. 25, to make eligible voters aware of the registration deadlines and requirements for the Nov. 6 election.

The deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, Oct. 9.

“We are encouraging people to register in the coming weeks to be able to vote in the presidential election,” Secretary Schedler said. “The registration deadline is exactly two weeks away.”

Citizens can always register to vote:

• at your parish’s registrar of voters office(s)

• while obtaining services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assistance agencies, public schools, colleges and/or libraries
