As part of a warrant round-up initiative, the Zachary Police Department will begin actively pursuing persons who have outstanding warrants with the ZPD or through Zachary City Court beginning in November.

Warrants can include bench warrants, issued by Zachary City Court Judge Lonny Myles, or an affidavit warrant, written and issued by police officers and detectives.

Police Chief David McDavid said he and the department intend to take a more aggressive approach in locating individuals with outstanding warrants. "One way is to continue publishing the warrants in the paper (Zachary Plainsman) and online (zacharytoday.com), but also to begin a feature titled Zachary's Most Wanted," McDavid said. "We're going to start releasing photographs of these individuals we cannot locate."

McDavid said the ZPD considers all offenses and violations serious ones and they will continue to do all possible to clear the warrants from the legal system.

The following persons, with last known Zachary addresses, have failed to appear in Zachary City Court for multiple offenses. If you know the whereabouts of these individuals, please contact the ZPD at 654-1905.

• Joshua Bethley, 27, last known to reside at 4709 Avenue Z. Bethley has outstanding warrants for: license plate lamps required, signals by hand/arm or signal lamps, speeding and driving under suspension.

• Donald Cooper, 38, last known to reside at 5312 Hillcrest, has warrants issued for several traffic violations, theft and issuing worthless checks.

• Brittany Dezendorf, 19, last known to reside at 20909 Leviticus Dr., is wanted for failure to appear for driving under suspension, speeding and vehicle license required.

• Brandon L. Firth, 35, last known to reside at 6558 Donnie Dr., is wanted for driving under suspension, failure to obey stop signs and yield signs and no seat belt.

*NOTE: Four more wanted individuals will be published Friday, Nov. 2, on Zacharytoday.com.*
