The Zachary Youth Softball League completed another season on July 3 and held it’s end-of-year ceremony Tuesday, July 17.

ZYSl Board President Jason Rheams opened the ceremony with a prayer of thanks and continued appreciation for the City of Zachary, Mayor David Amrhein, Zachary City Councilmen, Shane Hebert and Chip Troth, of Zachary Youth Park.

Rheams especially thanked all the ZYSL parents, players and coaches in his opening remarks.

Each ZYSL player was awarded a trophy in the form of a hand-made wooden bat replica crafted by Mark Mulkey, a local craftsman, coach and parent.

Supplies used to finish and coat the bats were donated by Sherwin-Williams of Zachary. Justin Ness, Sherwin-Williams store manager, was present at the ceremony.

Larry Moss, Head of Umpires, awarded his annual Josephine awards to players from each division who displayed a great attitude, worked hard and who showed improvement throughout the entire season.

Rheams concluded the annual softball ceremony by announcing that Zachary Youth Softball will host a Fall Softball league at ZYP.

More information and announcements about the Fall season can be found on the league's website, www.zysoftball.org.

In addition, information about adult co-ed softball and registration for the ZYSL 2013 Spring softball season can be found there as well.
