The couple celebrated by taking a trip to Panama City, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Burdette have two children: a son, Jimmy Burdette, and his wife Denise; and a daughter, Annette Bogan, and her husband Johnny.
They have four grandchildren: Kevin Burdette and his wife Patricia; Karen Phillips and her husband Chase; Cherie Stojak and her husband Tommy; and John Douglas Bogan III.
The Burdettes also have four great-grandchildren:
Kiley and Jameson Phillips and Emilee and Ava Burdette.
The Burdettes were married March 24, 1957, at the home of Mrs. Burdette’s parents in Bogalusa with the Rev. Warren B. Wall officiating.
Both bride and groom were born and raised in Bogalusa.
