“Outstanding warrants are being processed on the first and third Wednesday of every month in Zachary City Court,” McDavid said. “Anyone who has an outstanding warrant and is scheduled to come to court but does not attend, should expect officers at their home or place of business that same day."
McDavid said the procedure will consist of bringing the person to court to have their warrant processed.
Many of the names on the lists are from forgotten speeding tickets or citations involving seat belts or no insurance. "We're not doing this to embarrass anyone," McDavid said. "We have to do this to clear out the system."
McDavid urges anyone who receives a citation or ticket, to pay it promptly. "What could be a $25 ticket turns into about a $200 fine, if ignored," McDavid said.
If you think you may have an outstanding warrant, an old ticket or your name is on the warrant list, please contact Zachary City Court at 654-0044 to resolve the matter immediately.
