Peyton McCulloch competed March 24-25 against 49 high school golfers throughout the southern region in the Junior Masters Tournament played at the Santa Maria Golf Club in Baton Rouge.

McCulloch swept the field both days and claimed his second first-place title for 2012.

The Zachary High School student led the first round firing an under par score of 69. He played an error-free first round sinking four birdie putts for the day.

On the second day of the Masters, McCulloch sealed his win with another under par round of 71 to include three more birdies and capture the overall tournament title in the Junior Masters tournament.

By sealing this win, McCulloch was awarded an American Junior Golf Association exemption for 2012, and plans to use it to play later in the year to compete at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., at the TPC Sawgrass Country Club AJGA tournament. An AJGA exemption awards exceptions to winners of certain tournaments.

The ZHS golf team will be playing March 30-31 at Beau Chene Country Club in Mandeville.

Go, Broncos!
