East Feliciana High School Head Football Coach Cedric Anderson was recently named Class 2A Coach of the Year. His entire coaching staff was named the 7-2A All-District Coaches.
In the wake of what can only be called a magical inaugural season for East Feliciana High School, the accolades continue to pour down upon coaches and players alike.

Last week, Coach Cedric Anderson earned the Class 2A Coach of the Year award, four team members won All-State honors, a total of 20 Tigers made the All-District team, and the U.S. Army Red Stick Bowl selected four EFHS seniors to highlight their talents against other all-stars from around the state.

In addition to the selection of the four players to the game, offensive line coach Mike Odenhal was picked to coach the offensive line for the “Rough Riders,” the team with which all of the Tigers played.

Further, the entire East Feliciana High School coaching staff earned All-District honors as “Coach of the Year.”

Individually, sophomore phenom Kendall Beckwith racked up the most awards. Coaches around the state named him First Team All-State as an athlete, a hybrid position suited for his talents in both running and throwing the ball. The 6’3”, 205 pound defensive end turned quarterback passed and ran for 32 touchdowns, compiling over 2,300 yards in route to leading the Tigers to a 12-1 season.

Prior to his All-State nomination, 7-2A coaches named Beckwith the Most Valuable Player of the year.

Beckwith’s selection as an All-State first teamer on offensive was mirrored by the All-State, First-Team selection of Tiger defensive back De’vontay Hogan. The final defensive statistics for the Tigers have not been completed at this time.

Senior running back Joseph Robinson and senior wide receiver Tekemian Ceasar earned All-State Honorable Mentions. Each was easily a candidate for the top spots in their positions as well.

Robinson finished the season with over 1,400 all-purpose yards. Ceasar netted over 850 yards in his senior campaign. Both are being heavily recruited at this time.

Twenty Tigers merited All-District honors. Beckwith earned the MVP spot. Ceasar and Robinson also snared first team selections as did Hogan. Tiger star lineman Jamalfadell Jackson battled his way to First Team, All-District honors as both and offensive and defensive lineman to round out the Tigers five first teamers.

The Tigers loaded the All-District Second team as well.

The EFHS 2-7A East Feliciana High School Second Team All-District winners are senior Trevante Taylor, OL; senior Treylen Spurlock, OL; junior Wando Stampley, LB; senior Hendrick Taylor, LB; senior Courtney Matthews, WR; Kendell Collins, OL; senior Gilbert Grogan, DB; and junior Chris Matthews, RB.

All-District Honorable Mentions for the Tigers are junior Freddie Walker, sophomore Christopher Young, senior Tecorrece King, sophomore Braylon Jarrell, junior Chris Matthews, senior Aaron Hayes and junior Marquelle Ross.

In the U.S. Army Red Stick Bowl, East Feliciana Tigers led the offensive effort for the Rough Riders.

Robinson led all Rough Rider rushers. He rushed for more than 100 yards in ten carries. His tough running forced the opposing Black Knights into stronger run coverage which allowed the Rough Riders to unleash another East Feliciana weapon, Ceasar.

Ceasar and Catholic High School quarterback Zack Olive displayed an obvious chemistry on the field. The pair hooked up nine times for 127 yards and two touchdowns.

The second of the two scores came with four seconds left in the game and the Rough Riders down by four points. Oliver threw a perfect fade in the endzone to Ceasar to give the riders the win.

Oliver called Ceasar a special player and lauded the Tiger receiver for his immense talent.

Ceaser said Oliver “loved” throwing him the ball.

On the defensive side of the ball, Hogan had a pass defense and Taylor made several stops.
