However, elevated roadways could receive some icing due to freezing temperatures and strong cold north winds. All precipitation returns to cold rain after 9 am tomorrow morning.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. West wind around 5 mph.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 33. South wind around 5 mph.
FREEZING RAIN VS. SLEET
Sleet is frozen precipitation that falls as ice pellets which you may see bouncing off your windshield, roof or the ground. Depending on the intensity and duration, sleet can accumulate much like you see with snow.
Freezing rain on the other hand, falls just like normal rain only it freezes on contact with roads, trees, power lines and other structures since temperatures are 32 degrees or below at the surface. Even light accumulations may cause dangerous travel, while heavier amounts can be very damaging.
Currently, it is 32 degrees but feels like 23.
Tonight, rain and freezing rain is expected with a low around 30 degrees. Conditions will be icy.
Chance of precipitation is 70 - 90 percent.
On Friday morning, Feb. 4, more rain and ice is expected with the highs reaching 40 degrees and a 60 percent chance of precipitation.
Friday night wil be partly cloudy at 25 degrees and the chance of precipitation dropping to 20 percent.
