A 52-year-old Baker man pleaded guilty Tuesday, Feb. 22, in a 1988 rape case near Memorial Stadium and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Darrell Cage was arrested and indicted last year after DNA evidence collected in 1988 linked him to the crime last February.

Cage, who was charged with aggravated rape, pleaded guilty to forcible rape.

Aggravated rape carries an automatic life sentence while forcible rape carries a prison term of five to 40 years.

State District Judge Bonnie Jackson sentenced Cage to 35 years.
