Champion Management, Inc., headquartered in Central, Louisiana will be honored as one of LSU’s top 100 fastest growing Tiger businesses during the LSU 100 Awards luncheon set for Friday, April 8, 2011. The event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 4728 Constitution Avenue in Baton Rouge beginning at 11:30 a.m.

John Stagg, president and CEO of Champion Management, commented on the honor, “The education and life lessons bestowed upon our company and leadership through our LSU experience enabled us to have the skills, experience, and knowledge to be successful in our work as Champion Management. Our company is indeed honored to be recognized in this Top 100 inaugural year as one of the fastest growing Tiger businesses.”

According to LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute Director of Development, Jill Roshto, the LSU 100 celebrates the success of LSU graduates and recognizes the impact of LSU on the local, regional and national economies. LSU 100 is co-hosted by LSU and LSU SEI.

“Champion Management is an example of the Tiger-led businesses that we are looking for to show other Tigers from every college on campus what they need to do to be successful,” Roshto remarks. “We congratulate Champion Management on this achievement and on their continued success.”

Champion Management was formed in 2004 and has since grown to now provide physician practice and healthcare management services across Louisiana and Alabama. Champion met and exceeded LSU’s criteria for selection as a top 100 company including longevity, financial revenue achievement levels, and leadership with ties to LSU as graduates. “It is our hope that through this recognition, we will be able to encourage current LSU students in their individual quest for success as they enter the work force and perhaps begin businesses of their own. The ‘can do’ spirit that LSU instills within its students gives them a major step up as they enter the business world,” John Stagg comments.

Champion Management and the entire top 100 inaugural tiger businesses will be recognized during the April 8 awards luncheon.

The Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, an integral part of LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, utilizes the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Fellows, LSU Executive Education and Social Entrepreneurship to address the challenges of entrepreneurship and to positively impact students, the regional economy, the state of Louisiana and the nation as a whole.
