Meredith Cothern of Zachary and Greg Herring of Eaton, Ohio, are happy to announce their engagement and upcoming wedding ceremony to be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the Country Club of York in York, Pa.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Joe and Dee Cothern of Petal, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Billye Cothern of Ruth, Miss., and Ella Dee Marschik of Clinton.

Cothern is 2002 graduate of Zachary High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University in 2006. Cothern currently serves as the associate director of development for the Penn State University Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Penn.

The groom-elect is the son of John and Kathy Herring of Eaton, Ohio. He is the grandson of Ruth Miller of Eaton, Ohio, and Mary Herring of Pismo Beach, Calif.

Herring is a 1995 graduate of Eaton High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University in 1999 and Master of Science degree in sport management in 2008 from the University of Southern Mississippi. He currently serves as a faculty member in sport management at York College of Pennsylvania in York, Pa.
