The City of Zachary uses this means to reach out to all residents in an attempt to identify any who have been victims of significant flood damage or flood loss over the past 10 years.

A public meeting was held on Monday, April 18, with representatives from the EBR Parish Mayor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. The purpose was to meet with victims of recurring or repetitive loss from flooding which has occurred within the Zachary city limits. Working from lists provided by MOHSEP and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP), affected citizens were contacted, and an informational meeting was held for the purposes of proposing mitigation options for offsetting future losses.

In the process of the meeting, it was realized that potentially more victims may exist than had been previously identified by the parish or the state. It is for that reason that this second and final attempt to identify any legitimate property owner missed in the initial search be conducted.

If you feel that you may qualify for this funding initiative, please contact Chris Calbert, chief administrative officer with the City of Zachary Mayor’s Office, immediately at 654 0287 for additional details and information.
