A resident of Greenwell Springs, he died Friday, June 24, 2011, at age 59. He was a devoted husband of 35 years and a loving father and grandfather. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary, on Sunday, June 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting resumes at the funeral home Monday, June 27, from 8:30 a.m. until service time at 9:30 a.m., conducted by Dr. Reggie Bridges. Graveside service at Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville, Miss., at 11:30 a.m. He is survived by his wife, Judy Head; daughter, Jennifer Head, of Greenwell Springs; son, Jason Head and wife Mindy, of Zachary; parents, Norman and Dorothy Head, of Liberty, Miss.; sister, Kathy Boeer and husband Bill, of Brenham, Texas; brother, Melvin and wife Debbie Head, of Beaumont, Texas; two grandchildren, Keely Head and Brodie Head; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, a brother and nephew, Matthew Boeer. Pallbearers will be Wade McCastle, Bruce Saale, Terry Young, Richard Brown, John Abrams, Clay Harold, Scott Porter and Steve Boivin.
