Zachary Community School District principals celebrate a seventh year at number one. On Oct. 17, the district held a community-wide celebration at Bronco Stadium where the principals each received an award honoring their school district's achievements.

The evening was a huge celebration for the district and an historical one. The ZCSD made history recently as the first and only school district in the state to receive an "A" grade.

When the state district performance scores were released Oct. 5, the ZCSD had a score of 121.3 points, putting it ahead of the state-mandated score of 120.

Zachary Community School District Principals present for the celebration were: Patrick Jenkins, Port Hudson Careeer Academy; Wes Watts, Zachary High School; Rebecca Thompspn, Assistant Principal at Northwestern Middle School; Jennifer Marangos, Zachary Elementary School; Dewey Davis, Copper Mill Elementary School; Martha Davis, Northwestern Elementary School; and Cynthia Myers; Zachary Early Learning Center. Debby Brian, NMS Principal was not present.

The celebration included performances from school spirit groups, the band Winbourne and a fireworks display compliments of the City of Zachary.

School board members also received an award marking the seventh year at number one.
