The Zachary Kiwanis Club welcomed guest speaker Chip Mills to its Oct. 26 meeting.

Mills is the economic development director for the Zachary Chamber of Commerce and part-time economic development coordinator for the City of Zachary.

Mills and Zachary has formed an alliance - the North Capital Regional Alliance - with East and West Feliciana and Pointe Coupee Parishes. Goals of the NCRA include ensuring the area is a premier destination for education, healthcare and the workforce.

"As a region, we all have components that are worthy of competing for industry," said Mills.

Other NCRA goals include projects such as downtown revitalization, improving the quality of life, streamlining organizations and marketing the areas.
