Veterans Day is an official Baton Rouge City/Parish holiday and will be observed on Friday, Nov. 11. All City/Parish offices will be closed on this day.

Solid waste collection (garbage and trash) in EBRP will be made on Nov. 11 by Allied Waste under their contract with the City/Parish for residential and governmental buildings. Recyclable material in EBR Parish will be collected as normal on Friday.

The North Landfill will also be open to all haulers both commercial and the general public on Nov. 11.

The Zachary City Council approved Mayor David Amrhein's request to add Veterans Day as an official City of Zachary holiday.

All Zachary City offices will be closed Friday, Nov. 11.

Also, Secretary of State Tom Schedler is announcing the closure of early voting on Nov. 11, in observance of the state holiday Veterans Day.

Early voting will resume on Saturday, Nov. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
