"A Christmas Back in Time"

Zachary's annual Christmas parade will roll Saturday, Dec. 10, at 10 a.m. There are 84 parade participants in this year's Zachary parade.

This year's theme is "A Christmas Back in Time," and cash prizes will be awarded for Best Overall Theme, Best Float, Best Marching Group and Best Riding Group (car, horse, motorcycle or truck).

The event will be televised and emcees will be Lisa Metcalf and Billy Kline. Judges for the parade this year will include the Zachary Plainsman's Stacy Gill, Howard Arceneaux or Jill McGraw, of Business NORTH, and Daniel Duggan from the Post.

"An Old Fashion Home-Town Christmas"

The Slaughter Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its first-ever Christmas Parade and Festival on Saturday, Dec. 10. The theme is An Old-fashioned Hometown Christmas.

The Christmas parade rolls at 3 p.m. with festival activities to follow such as two tons of snow for the kids games, arts and craft sales, food, bounce houses, music and much more.

Float line-up begins at 2:30 p.m., and awards will be given to the Best Float, Best Marching Group and Best Riding Group, as well as to the best overall display of parade theme: "An Old-Fashioned Hometown Christmas."
