The Recreation and Park Commission of East Baton Rouge Parish will close the administrative offices, 6201 Florida Blvd., Mon., Jan.2 for the holiday season. Normal operating hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

All BREC recreation centers will open during normal operating hours except on Jan. 1.

All BREC tennis centers will remain open on Sat., Dec. 31 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m., except Greenwood tennis Center. They will close Sun., Jan. 1.

The Baton Rouge Zoo and all BREC special facilities will remain open during normal business hours for the holiday week and close only on Sun., Jan. 1, except the Baton Rouge Gallery that will also close on Sat., Dec. 31.

BREC golf courses will have the following special hours on Dec. 31:

Beaver Creek, Howell Park, Santa Maria, Webb Memorial and Dumas Memorial will take tee times from 7-11 a.m. with no further play allowed after that time.

Historic City Park and J.S. Clark will take regular first come, first served play from 7-11 a.m. with no further play allowed after that time.

Golfers may contact individual courses for tee time information.

The BREC Extreme Sports Park will operate special holiday hours. BREC’s BMX/Skatepark will operate:

Thurs., 12-29: noon-9 p.m.

Fri., 12-30: noon-5 p.m., closed for reservation

Sat., 12-31: closed for reservation



BREC’s rock wall will close on Sat., Dec. 31, and Cohn Arboretum will close Jan. 1-2.
