National Crime Victims’ Rights Week will be observed April 22 - 28. This year’s theme: “Extending the Vision: Reaching Every Victim” pays tribute to the millions of individuals who over the years have become victims of crime.

In observance of this week, the EBR District Attorney’s Office is hosting a Crime Victims’ Recognition Ceremony, on Thursday, April 26, at 1 p.m. in downtown Baton Rouge at the 19th JD Courthouse, 11th floor, 300 North Blvd.

The group is coming together to honor victims of crime in our communities. The public is invited to attend.

Public officials including EBR District Attorney Hillar Moore, Sheriff Sid Gautreaux and BR City Police Chief Dewayne White will participate. Two featured speakers will be daughters of local homicide victims.

Information and resource tables will be on display in the lobby of the 11th floor courtroom of the 19th JD Courthouse, 300 North Blvd. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
