The Music Man is an American musical classic, following fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill and his visit to River City, Iowa, where he meets and falls in love with the willful, spinster librarian, Marian Paroo.

With his word-a-second style, "Professor" Harold Hill convinces the town to adopt his revolutionary music program, "The Think System," or face the moral decline of the youngsters of River City.

Chaos ensues as Hill's credentials are questioned and he is forced to prove himself to the citizens of River City. Featuring songs such as, “Seventy-Six Trumbones,” “Goodnight, My Someone,” and “Shapoopi.” It’s the perfect show for the entire family.

The Music Man Jr. credits list music, book and lyrics by Meredith Wilson and is based on a story by Meredith Wilson and Franklin Lacey.

The musical is directed by Jack Lampert, with Chris Pyfrom as musical director and Emily Coley as choreographer.

This is an all-kid production. Come out and support these local actors, singers and performers in the BRLT's production of The Music Man Jr.

The purpose of BRLT's Young Actors Program is to teach, create and nurture the artistic development of young people ages 7-18 through performance opportunities of the highest quality.

BRLT productions focus on classics of musical theatre which have been specifically developed for young performers to perform for general audiences.

In addition, the theater classes are designed as 10-week classes/rehearsal settings. This opportunity will develop and enhance lifelong skills, as well as foster a love of theatre for the audiences of tomorrow.

Performances begin Friday, May 11, and continue thru May 13 and will be performed again May 18 - 20.
