The Zachary Police Department is looking for a woman who allegedly is responsible for stealing a debit card and using it to make fraudulent purchases in Zachary and Baker, said Zachary Police Chief David McDavid.

"On or about Sunday, May 17, an unidentified female made several purchases at the Zachary Walmart and Walgreens retail stores with a stolen debit card," said McDavid.

The Zachary Police Chief said the person whose card was stolen, mistakenly left her wallet inside a shopping cart.

The wallet was later discovered by the female suspect who then removed the victim's debit card and used it make several purchases, McDavid said.

The woman was caught on the Walgreen's surveillance camera and is described as a black woman who looks to be between the ages of 35-45-years-old.

She can be seen in the video images making purchases and exiting the store, said McDavid.

If you know the woman or have any information regarding her identity or whereabouts, please contact Zachary Police by calling 225-654-1905 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 225-344-STOP.
