An outstanding student, Sinquefield scored a 34 on the ACT and is a National Merit Finalist. He has always loved science and plans to major in biochemistry and hopes to continue on to medical school and become an ophthalmologist, helping those with serious eye problems.
Sinquefield attends Plains Presbyterian Church and is very active in children’s ministry, youth group and choir. He also enjoys reading, tennis, golf, swimming, water polo and following college sports.
An accomplished pianist, he has won numerous awards in piano competitions. He is also the captain of his basketball team and was selected for First Team All-State by the Louisiana Christian School Athletic Association.
Each year, the Lane Regional Medical Center Auxiliary awards a $2,000 scholarship to a high school graduating senior who is interested in entering the healthcare field.
To qualify the applicant must be a resident of Lane’s service area - Hospital Service District No. 1 - and must have maintained at least an A or B average in high school.
