The 10U Zachary All-Star team are on top after winning the 2012 USSSA All-Star State Championship game held June 17 in Slidell. They went 5-0 during the tournament, and each player received a championship ring.

As a result, they decided to "play up" and move to the next classification for their next tournaments.

Newly classified in the 10AA division, the All-Star team entered their first 10AA tournament at Cypress Mounds baseball complex in Baton Rouge on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1.

The boys continued to be a dominant force by scoring 63 runs in six games and allowing an average of 2.8 runs per game for the entire tournament!

Andrew Hopwood and Derrek Lathon, Jr. combined forces to pitch a no-hitter against the Bucktown Crabbers on Saturday of the tournament.

The All-Stars did not lose once the entire tournament and were victorious in Sunday's bracket play by winning with scores of 19-4 and 9-4.

The 10U Zachary All-Stars are ranked number one in the nation in the USSSA Power Rating in their classification and are also ranked first in the USSSA Louisiana Coaches Poll.

The team's overall record is 17-2.

Congratulations, to these All-Star boys for all they have accomplished this summer!
