The Zachary Police Department Explorers attended the Southeastern Law Enforcement Explorer Academy in Gulfport, Miss., June 16-23. This is the fourth straight year the ZPD Explorers have attended the event,.

The Zachary Explorers competed in physical fitness, firearms and teambuilding competitions. While at the academy, explorers also learned the inner workings of a career in law enforcement.

This academy is in its 24th year and has produced numerous law enforcement professionals who later became patrol officers, Chiefs of Police, Sheriffs and federal officers.

Zachary Police Explorers are now accepting applications for the Explorer Post.

Law Enforcement Career Exploring is open to young men and women ages 14 and not yet 19, with an interest in learning more about careers in the field of Law Enforcement.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact us on Facebook or by calling ZPD Officer Darren Sibley at 225-654-0073.
