Mr. & Mrs. Dwight A. Schilling, of Port Hudson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, their fiftieth, on Saturday, July 7, 2012, with their four children and their spouses, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren at Lagniappe Restaurant in Baker.

The couple received a bed and breakfast getaway and dinner certificate of their choice as a gift from their family.

Mrs. Schilling is the former Nell Ann Patterson, daughter of the late Leon and Beatrice Patterson of Morganza.

Mr. Schilling is the son of the late Delos and Elmer Schilling of Mt. Hermon, La.

Dwight retired from the Louisiana Department of Corrections to relax by hunting and fishing. Nell is a homemaker and has taken great care of her children and grandchildren.

The couple was married July 7, 1962, at the First United Penecostal Church of St. Francisville by Rev. Thomas Craft.

The Schillings are active members of the same church today, with Bobby Clark serving as Pastor.

First United Penecostal Church of St. Francisville was also built by some of the Patterson-Solar family members.

Dwight and Nell are blessed to have such a wonderful life and said they hope to have many more years together.

Congratulations, to the Schillings on their 50th wedding anniversary!
