The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Zachary Committee once again hosted its annual Back-to- School Supply Give-Away and Health Fair recently.

The event was held Saturday, Aug. 4, on the grounds of the Zachary Community Center, located at 5746 Rollins Road in Zachary, from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Finger printing, children's ID badges and refreshments were featured and served.

MLK committee members and dozens of volunteers, including Zachary Police Department D.A.R.E. officers, handed out school supplies.

Zachary Police Chief David McDavid was this year's guest speaker.

Zachary's first lady, Robin Amrhein, also attended the event, as well as local firefighters, who were available throughout the day.

Parents were asked to be present with their children during the annual event.
