A monster of a hog was caught the last weekend in July in the Norwood area by David Braun, who runs a feral hog removal business.

Braun said the pig was well over 300 pounds, since two 300 lb. scales were broken attempting to get an accurate weight!

Feral hogs have become a huge nuisance to land owners, leasors and hunting clubs throughout Louisiana.

Braun operates Professional Wild Hog Removal, a company which uses a combination of managed trapping along with well-trained dogs to help remove hogs off property.

"The removal of wild hogs from commercial and privately owned properties is our version of community service needed to provide assistance to residents and landowners of Louisiana from the unrelenting devastation delivered by the wild hog," Braun says.

His company does not charge a fee for the removal of hogs but does accept tips. David Braun can be reached at 225-806-8246 or by visiting www.hogbiz.com.
