Only a couple of weeks remain until the start of the 2012 football season and the Zachary High Broncos take on the Catholic High Bears in Bronco Stadium Friday, Aug. 31.

The 2012 season is a highly anticipated one, as are the changes to Bronco Stadium - it's the first year Zachary will feature reserved seating.

The ZHS Athletic Department is looking forward to the reserved seating atmosphere in Bronco Stadium. "This is something the Zachary school district has wanted to do for a long time," said Joey Sanchez, ZHS Athletic Director. "The initial plan calls for the installation of 99 seats in the first season, but we currently have a few seats remaining, so we encourage anyone who may have delayed purchasing a seat, to do so now."

Ninety-nine red chair-back styled seats measuring 20 inches wide will be located on the home-side of Bronco Stadium in three rows of 33 seats, which are located in the middle section of the bleachers and under the Bronco press box.

Jackson's Bayou Boys, LLC, will begin installing the seats this week, Sanchez says.

"Our ultimate goal is to sell 500 reserved seats," said Dianne LeBlanc, ZHS Athletic Dept.'s secretary. "However, installation requirements dictate that seats be installed 99 at a time, so once the first 99 seat-section is sold, then we'll begin filling requests for the next 99 seats."

The cost for reserved seating is $100 per chair for all Century Club members and $150 for non-members. Seats are numbered, and those who have purchased reserved seating will be issued a card with their name and seat number.

Reserved seating will be used for all ZHS home football games, including any play-off games. The only exclusion for claiming reserved seats will be if ZHS hosts jamboree games, bowl games or hall of fame games.

Sanchez said a police officer or JROTC cadet will be checking cards at each home game to ensure seats are being utilized by the correct party. Reserved seating will not gain you free admission into the games.

Requests to be seated together should have been made early on, Sanchez said, but if any remaining available seats are together, ZHS will accommodate any requests for them if possible. "Although, we're urging fans to act quickly for these last few seats," he said.

The 2012 Bronco football season shows ZHS hosting seven home games - twice as many as last year. On Friday, Aug. 31, ZHS takes on Catholic High School, and other match-ups featuring the ZHS Broncos at home include East Feliciana (Sept. 14); Dutchtown (Sept. 21); West Feliciana (Sept. 28); Central High (Oct. 5); Walker (Oct. 19 - Homecoming); and Denham Springs (Nov. 2).

Away games for the Broncos will be played against the Thibodeaux Tigers (Sept. 7); the *Scotlandville Hornets (Oct. 12); and the *Live Oak Eagles (Oct. 26). (* denotes district play)

Reserved seats for Bronco Stadium first went on sale June 4. Once all 99 seats for the first section are sold, a reserved seating list will be generated for the next 99 seats, and names will be put on a list in the order they are received.

To purchase your reserved seating in Bronco Stadium, please contact the ZHS Athletic Department by calling Joey Sanchez at 225-287-3037 or Dianne LeBlanc at 654-2776, ext. 543.
