Louisiana State Police Troop C will conduct a NO REFUSAL DWI Checkpoint Thursday, Dec. 27, at an undisclosed location in Terrebonne Parish.

The sobriety checkpoint will begin at approximately 9 p.m.

The checkpoint will be manned by Louisiana State Police Troop C, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Houma Police Department as an ongoing proactive effort to remove impaired drivers from the roadways.

Impaired driving remains a major public safety threat that claims thousands of innocent lives on our roadways every year. The “No Refusal” Campaign is another step in the battle against impaired drivers.

Troopers will be aggressively patrolling the highways this entire holiday season to ensure the safety of everyone as they travel to their destinations. If you are caught driving impaired, you will be arrested.

For those individuals suspected of impaired driving and who refuse to submit to a chemical test, “No Refusal” procedures will be implemented.

Getting impaired drivers off the road is a community wide effort. That means everyone from a Law Enforcement Officer making a traffic stop to the motorist dialing 911 or *LSP (*577) to report an impaired driver.

We are proud to continuously partner with our neighboring Law Enforcement Agencies and communities to ensure this holiday season is a safe and happy one.

Motorists that witness hazardous situations are urged to call *LSP (*577) and report that activity to the Louisiana State Police.
