The Louisiana High School Coaches Association (LHSCA) each year hosts the high school all-star games, and this custom allows senior student-athletes to play in their respective sports final game of the season.

In order to be eligible to compete in an all-star game, athletes must be nominated by a coach who is an active member of the LHSCA, and they must be on schedule to graduate at the end of the school year. The sports of volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, football and soccer all hold all-star games, and Louisiana Coca Cola Bottlers is the official sponsor of the all-star series.

All-Star games move around the state to better showcase the senior student-athletes’ talents. High school senior athletes are submitted for their individual sports and are placed on either the East or West squads depending on their schools’ location. A committee of coaches selects both teams.

The volleyball all-star game was held Nov. 17 at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans. To view a list of senior participants in this year’s volleyball all-star game, visit the Volleyball section of our website at www.lhsaa.org.

Boy’s and girls’ basketball all-star games will be held on Saturday, March 16, at the campus of Centenary College in Shreveport. Nominations for both boys and girls senior players are due no later than Jan 7.

The softball all-star games are slated for May 17 - 18 at Louisiana College in Pineville. Nominations for senior softball players to be eligible to participate in the games must be received by March 12. Baseball all-star games are currently scheduled for North Park in Denham Springs May 24 - 25. There will be two all-star baseball squads selected March 24, and nominations for senior players must be received by March 18.

The football all-star game set for June 8 is the only intra-state game. The two squads, Team Louisiana and Team Texas, will meet at Stallworth Stadium in Baytown, Texas. A group of 40 senior athletes will make up the team from Louisiana. All athlete nominations must be received by Jan. 21.

The boys’ and girls’ soccer all-star games will be held July 6 at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, and nominations for all senior student athletes wishing to participate in these games are due by April 9.

For more information about the all-star games or to nominate a student-athlete to participate in any game regardless of sport, visit www.lhsaa.org/sports/all-star.
