The Zachary High Boys Varsity and JV soccer teams continue their dominance in district play.

Both teams recently defeated Walker High School on Dec. 19.

Burke Daigle had a “hat trick” with three goals scored, followed by a goal from Jonathan Davis and one by Derek Wooden for the Varsity's 5-0 victory over Walker.

Goalkeepers Charles Peroyea and Martin Fontenot each had two saves.

The ZHS JV team also won, defeating Walker’s JV team, 6-0.

Goal scorers were Kyle Durbin, Grayson Gale, Chandler Kelley, Jared Menson, Toby Nzewi and Benton Wesley.

Then on Dec. 21, Zachary defeated Live Oak 7-1.

In that game, Jonathan Davis and Burke Daigle each scored two goals, and Derek Wooden, Benton Wesley and Brent Callihan had one goal each.

Freshman goalkeeper Charles Peroyea had two saves.

The boys also played a tough division match on Jan. 5 in Bronco Stadium against St. Michael’s and won.

Midfielder Jacob Garrett scored the only goal of the game for a final score of 1-0.

The Broncos are now 9-6-1 and 4-0 in district play!

They continue their quest for district dominance on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at ZHS.

The ZHS Varsity team plays Denham Springs at 6 p.m. with JV following at 7:45 p.m.
