The Zachary Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for its 2013 Leadership NORTH program.

If you are a leader from the areas of Zachary, Baker, Central, East Feliciana, West Feliciana or Pointe Coupee, you are eligible to participate in the program. Participants have the full support of the organization or business they represent.

Leadership NORTH is an annual leadership development program for the north Baton Rouge region hosted by the Zachary Chamber with assistance from the Louisiana Department of Economic Development, LSU AgCenter and Dr. Bobby Soileau.

The program is designed to engage emerging leaders in the region and prepare them to meet the future needs of their communities. Participants are also exposed to challenges, opportunities and issues affecting their communities.

For those hoping to gain one of the 25 spots available in the 2013 Leadership NORTH class, the deadline to submit your application is Thursday, Jan. 31. Applicants will be chosen in mid-February.

Participants will meet for eight monthly sessions beginning Mar. 21 and ending Sept. 19.

The application contains plenty of information and answers questions you may have about 2013 Leadership NORTH.

For those who participated in the 2012 Leadership NORTH class, a graduation date has been set for Thursday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. (Details coming soon on the location of the ceremony.)

Graduates from 2012, as well as the 2013 participants, are asked to save the date for this combination graduation/2013 kickoff ceremony.
