Former La. Tech dean

RUSTON – Services for former Louisiana Tech dean of admissions Patsy Brister Lewis will be Saturday. She died Jan. 23 at age 78.

Before joining Louisiana Tech, she taught in Sulphur, Jonesboro-Hodge, Simsboro and Ruston High schools. While at Tech, she was dean of admissions, basic and career studies and director of orientation.

While an undergraduate at Louisiana College in Pineville, she was Homecoming Queen, May Queen and editor of the college newspaper.

Survivors include her husband E.J. and two sons.

Arrangements are by Kilpatrick.

Champion sprinter

BATON ROUGE – Services for former collegiate sprinter George ‘Log’ Anderson will be Friday. He died Jan. 16 in Omaha, Neb. at age 70.

He was a world-class sprinter on the Southern University men’s track and field team voted the Number 1 collegiate team of the 1960-69 decade. He was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs of the NFL and also played in the Continental Football League.

Survivors include his wife Ola and three sons.

Arrangements are by Roder, Omaha.

Electrical contractor

NATCHITOCHES – Services are Saturday for electrical contractor Billy Norman. He died Jan. 23 at age 86.

He was a US Navy veteran of World War II’s South Pacific theater. He owned and worked in Norman Electric, Natchitoches Electric and Industrial Design and Construction.

Survivors include his wife Doris, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Blanchard-St. Denis.
