Each year the organization invites its members and the general public to this special event where presentations are given on subjects important to the organization’s mission to teach life lessons through kid’s participation in sports.
The featured speaker this year is former Cleveland Indian and LSU pitcher, Chad Ogea.
Ogea is most noted for his two wins in the 1997 MLB World Series and the two key hits he got in Game 6 of that series that drove in two runs. Born in Lake Charles, Ogea and his family now live in Baton Rouge.
This event is free to the public, but also serves as the organization’s annual food drive for the Zachary Community Food Pantry, so everyone is asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the event.
