Judge Kristian Earles sentenced Prince to mandatory life on Friday for the 2005 killing of two women in their Branch home, which he then burned in an attempt to cover his actions.
Prince was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, but the same jury hung on whether to invoke capital punishment.
Prince was not arrested for the killings of Angella Matte and Jackie Campbell until two years after the fact.
At the time, he was serving a sentence in an other case when he told a fellow inmate of the Branch murders. The inmate told authorities and worked with them.
Prince’s trial had been on again-off again several times in the ensuing six years, with various issues responsible for repeated delay.
