The Zachary High Lady Broncos Soccer team won their first round in the state playoffs, which was played last Friday night, Feb. 1.
The District Champs practiced hard every day to prepare for the 2-1 victory over Hahnville.
"The talented Hahnville team put forth their best efforts and played rough, demanding a physical game from the ladies. But our girls stepped up and won big," said Head Coach Keavin Tanner. "They never lost focus, and didn't back down to the rough play. We came out, played tough and scored early, playing hard until the end...and we won 2-1!"
A very special thanks goes out to all the families and friends who traveled to support the girls. Tanner said it was pretty amazing to see more Zachary fans in the stands than for the home team.
Next up for the Lady Broncos - the second round of the state playoffs at home in Bronco Stadium!
The Zachary community is encouraged to come out, pack the stands and show their Bronco pride as the girls take on Byrd High from Shreveport!
At 5 p.m. this evening, Wednesday, Feb. 6, come support the Lady Broncos in their quest for a state championship title.
