Police on Monday were investigating what they suspect was an attempted murder with a vehicle.

Officers responded shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday to a report of a pedestrian accidentally struck by a vehicle on East Magnolia.

Indications at the scene pointed to the possibility of a deliberate attempt by the vehicle driver to run over the pedestrian, according to police.

No official report had been filed Monday morning and no information was available listing either the victim or the suspect's name.
