According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LaDOTD), repairs were done on the bridge the previous Sunday.
On North Main Street cars could be seen reaching the end of the road where it connects with Pere Megret only to turn around and come back north to find another route.
The bridge was open again by 11:30 a.m.
Attempts were also made to contact LaDOTD, but a return call was not received pertaining to the nature of the closure.
