Internment followed in the Lone Cherry Cemetery under the direction of Mulhern Funeral Home Rayville, LA.
Mr. Tarver was a retired farmer, avid hunter and fisherman, and a vetern of World War II, who served in the Air Force passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at his home in Mangham, LA.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Mae Tarver, a son, James E. “Jr” Tarver; five brothers, Claude E. Tarver, Charles Tarver, Winfred Tarver, Travis Tarver, Virgil “Sonny Boy” Tarver; parents, Ed C. and Annie Tarver; and in-laws, Henry and Alice Chricerol.
He is survived by his spouse, Selma Tarver of Winnsboro, LA, 4 sisters, Dorothy Cox and husband Howard of Monroe, LA, Evelyn Lee of West Monroe, LA, Gladys Parker of Baton Rouge, LA, Margie Southern of Mangham, LA, step childern, J.C. and Alice Coyle and Al and Janet Housewright and numerous neices and nephews.
Pallbears were Levi Lord, Billy J. Mercer, Sr., Tony Jackson, Larry Jackson, Jessie Harris, and R. L. Bell III. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ron Morgan, Dave Estis, Frank Smith, Sr.
Visitation was held from 5-8PM Saturday, August, 23, 2008 at the funeral home.
