Mr. Barmore, a lifelong resident of Archibald, LA was born February 10, 1933 and passed away September 10, 2008 at Plantation Manor Nursing Home, in Winnsboro, LA. Leroy attended Mangham High School. He was a retired farmer and bus driver for the Richland Parish School System and a former board member of Four Forks Gin Co.
Mr. Barmore was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Allyne Bledsoe Barmore; his parents, Thomas Benton Barmore, Sr. and Inez Hill Barmore; his brothers, Thomas Benton Barmore, Jr. and Harold Chambers Barmore; two sisters, Bena B. Ward and Frances B. Terry.
He leaves behind his daughter, Martha Bena Barmore of Archibald, LA; two sons, Wilbur Leroy Barmore, Jr. and his wife, Myrl of Mangham, LA; and Jeffery Lynn Barmore of Archibald, LA; his sister, Maggie B. Lytle and husband, Michael of Mangham, LA; his brother, Billy Don Barmore and wife, Sharon of Mangham, LA; four granddaughters, Anna Allyne Meyers of Rayville, LA, Emily Inez Meyers of Baton Rouge, LA, Hannah M. Barmore of Archibald, LA, and Andrea M. Barmore of Calhoun, LA; and one grandson, Benton Edward Barmore and wife, Sarah of Rayville, LA; several great grandchildren and very special friend, Linda Smalling.
Pallbearers were Glen Bledsoe, Michael Brakefield, Edward “Stroke” Ausberry, Lonzo Thomas, Kip Jones, and Harold Barmore, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom Hill, Bud Chapman, Guy “Buddy” Pardue, Max Hearn, Bobby Bledsoe and Charles Free Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to the Little Creek Methodist Church in Archibald, LA or the charity of your choice.
