ST. MARTINVILLE – The St. Martinville Police Department and the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office have combined forces to find Jules David Mallery who is said to have been involved in a double kidnapping and shooting Sunday (Oct. 19).

According to Todd D’Albor, chief administrative officer of the St. Martinville Police Department, law enforcement officials are searching for Mallery after one of two female victims was able to escape from the crime scene near Adam Carlson Park.

After fleeing to a nearby residence, the victim contacted police and described the harrowing situation.

D’Albor said she told dispatchers she was abducted from her apartment around 4:30 a.m. and was eventually taken to the wooded area near the city’s western limits more than 14 hours later. There the victims were held at gunpoint.

Mallery allegedly shot the other victim who was taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans. As of presstime Tuesday, she remains in the Intensive Care Unit there.

According to Maj. Ginny Higgins, a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. He is considered armed and dangerous. In addition to the two counts of aggravated kidnapping being charged by the St. Martinville Police Department, he is also being charged with the following by the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office:

2-Counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder

2-Counts of False Imprisonment

1-Count of Aggravated Rape
