Christine Husser Miley died at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Landmark Nursing Center in Hammond. She was 85, a native and life-long resident of Husser.

Visitation services were held at McKneely Funeral Home, Amite. Religious services were held at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Husser. Services were conducted by Fr. Chris Romaine. Interment was in the St. Dominic Cemetery, Husser.

She is survived by two daughters, Shelia Currier and husband, Stanley, Loranger and Emily Garafola and husband, Johnny, Baton Rouge; special friend, Rita Terrebonne, Norwalk, WI; two cousins, Ethel Miller and husband, Lannis, Baton Rouge and Leona Watson, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Shelby Miley; parents, Simon, Sr. and Emily Husser; six brothers, Simon, Jr., Recey, Arthur, Ellis, Elzy and Harvey Husser; five sisters, Madie, Gracy, Irma, Daisy and Ellen Husser.
