Troopers aggressively looked for vehicles that were not insured in an effort to remove uninsured vehicles from the roadway. Troopers also looked for other violations.
Trooper David Anderson, public information officer for state police, Troop I, reminded motorists Louisiana State Law requires you carry proof of insurance in the your vehicle at all times. If you fail to comply with this law, your vehicle may be towed away with the driver receiving a citation. Louisiana State Police also has a zero tolerance policy for people who choose to operate a motor vehicle while impaired, un-restrained or without insurance.
In Evangeline Parish, troopers issued the following citations:
•two notices for insurance violation
•two plates were seized for no insurance
•five window tint violations
•two vehicle registration
•one suspended driver’s license
•one child restraints
•three violation notices
•one vehicle was towed for no insurance.
