Maybe it didn’t have enough postage, or maybe it was the paper it was wrapped in.

Either way an 11-pound package addressed to 210 East Beech, Ville Platte, an address destined to go down in cult lore, roused suspicions of Postal Inspectors.

State Police investigators found it contained 11 pounds of marijuana. Postal Inspectors posing as rural mail carriers delivered the package.

When Adam Toussaint took possession of it he was arrested.

Subject search of the premises, police said, yielded more marijuana and some unidentified pills.

Toussaint, police said, rolled on his brother, Lazarb Seriale, as the intended recipient of the purloined package. Seriale subjected told agents, they said, that he arranged for the shipment.

Police did not say where the package was mailed from.

Toussaint and Seriale were booked in the Evangeline Parish Jail on possession with intent to distribute charges.
