The Laurie B. Richardson - Conway LeBleu Memorial Chili Cook-off will be held "under the tent" across from Tangipahoa Parish Fire District #1 Station #1 with contestants firing up their pots around 9:30 a.m. Judging will begin at 5 p.m. with serving to follow.
Rules are as follows:
The first place winner will receive the Joe Wayne Cutrer Plaque and prizes.
Five pounds of meat must be used in the recipe - meat of your choice.
Each entry must provide their own cooking appliances, utensils and serving spoon.
Actual cooking must be done on site in the area provided advance preparations i.e. chopping of vegetables may be done.
The entry fee is $25 if paid by noon on Wednesday, March 11. $35 is the fee if paid on March 12 or 13. Each chili must have a name. For any additional information or entry forms please contact Georgette or Bruce at 985-748-5161.
Immediately following the judging of the chili, at 6 p.m. walk south to the street dance. The Domino's will be performing from 6 - 9 p.m. This will be an actual street dance, so bring your comfortable shoes and boogie down with the sweet southern rock, country and blues sounds of the Domino's. Bring your lawn chairs, laze and visit.
