Lady Cats rally past DeRidder

DERIDDER - The Eunice Lady Bobcats exploded for three runs in the top of the eighth inning to grab a 5-2 win over DeRidder.

With the win, the Lady Cats improved to 13-7 overall and remain in second place in District 4-4A with a 5-2 mark.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh. DeRidder scored to send the game into extra innings.

With the game tied 2-2, Blaire Fuselier singled, K.K. Deviller was hit by a pitch and with two outs Sarah Hebert reached on an error to load the bases.

Megan McLemore doubled to score Fuselier and Devillier to grab a 4-2 lead.

Amber Darbonne then singled in Hebert to add the insurance run.

Jori LeJeune (13-3) earned the win as she struck out five, walked one and allowed two runs on four hits.

“Our girls showed a ton of character to come back the way they did.” head coach Scott Deshotel said.

Fuselier and Darbonne went 2-for-4, while Emily Turner went 1-3 with a double and McLemore went 1-1 with two RBI.

Eunice travels to LaGrange on Monday before visiting Sam Houston on Tuesday.
