The Saints earned the 13th seed in the Class 3A playoffs and they will play host to 20th seeded Catholic-NI this Friday Night in the Bi-district round of the post season. The Saints upped their record to 6-4 overall with the win over Baker.
West Feliciana jumped on Baker early and rolled to their sixth win of the season. The Saints were clicking on all cylinders on offense and their defense was just as impressive in their win over the Buffaloes.
West Feliciana piled up 440-yards of total offense as they got 309-yards rushing and another 131-yards passing in the game. After a slow start in the first quarter, the Saints blew the game open in the second quarter by scoring 21 points.
DeShawn Morrison set the tone early in the game with a big 77-yard touchdown run. Adrien Webb then tacked on the PAT and the Saints had a 7-0 lead. But the second quarter would be when the Saints took over the game.
Morrison scored on a 14-yard run and with the PAT, West Feliciana led 14-0. But the Saints were just getting started. Morrison then threw a 17-yard pass to Webb to help push the lead to 21-0 and then Dalvin White scored on an eight-yard run to make the score 28-0 by halftime.
The Saints when then call in their reserve players to help score the rest of their points. Austin Reed scored on an 8-yard run and Michael Steele hauled in a nice 37-yard TD reception from Byron Cobb and the Saints went on to win the game 41-8.
The Buffaloes did get on the board when Niko More scored on an eight-yard run and with the two-point conversion the Saints were still up 41-8. The Buffaloes season comes to an end with a 2-7 record while the Saints will move on to the playoffs.
West Feliciana will host Catholic-NI this week and the winner of that game will face the winner of the Carroll versus Bogalusa game in the regional round of the 3A playoffs.
