On Feb. 23, Legendz Baseball held its Annual Leadership Night. This event, sponsored by Medical Pharmacy and hosted by Fellowship Church, officially kicked off the 2010 season for the Legendz Baseball teams ages 5U thru 14U. This year’s guest speaker was Russ Johnson who played for LSU from 1992 - 94. Johnson was the starting shortstop for the 1993 Championship team, and both the SEC Player of the Year and Team Captain in 1994. After a stellar career at LSU, the Houston Astros selected Johnson in the first round of the Major League Draft. He then went on to play for 13 years in Major League Baseball. Johnson, center in green, shared stories of faith and baseball with the audience of players, parents and siblings.
