A loving husband, father and grandfather, he passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2010, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center surrounded by the family he so dearly loved. He was a retired captain from Dixon Correctional Institute. He was 69 and a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary White Jenkins; children, Terri Bass, Jim and Tammy Jenkins, Gail and Robert Jordan and Gary and Jennifer Jenkins; grandchildren, Amber and Jason Manor, Chelsea Pugh, Brittany and Richard Parker, Owen and Kim Jenkins, Camryn Pugh, Devin Jordan, Cade Jordan and Madison Jenkins; and three great-grandchildren, Micheal and Madelyn Manor and Trey Jenkins. He is also survived by brothers, Wayne Jenkins and wife Dottie, and Otis Jenkins; sisters, Tena Mills and husband Cecil, and Sylvia Harrell; and sister-in-law, Mary Jenkins. Preceded in death by his parents, Wilford and Lillian Jenkins; sister, Geraldine Westbrook; and brother, Pete Jenkins. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home Inc., Zachary on Thursday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. until service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Darwin Hall. Burial in Port Hudson National Cemetery, Zachary. Pallbearers will be Owen Jenkins, Cade Jordan, Jason Manor, Richard Parker, Johnny Annison, Keith Mills Scott Mills and Billy Jenkin
